And the loss of control begins

Carter started Kindergarten.
  • My heart broke.
  • Into a million tiny pieces.
  • He has no idea.
  • I held it together until I made it back into the truck.
I then went out for margaritas with another mom.
  • We didn't plan ahead to make it to the (oh-la-la) country club for mimosas.
  • So we started (a liquid) lunch at 11.
His favorite part is Alphabet Bingo and taking "cold" (sack) lunch. And with this lunch bag... who wouldn't be happy to show it off?!
  • This is where I insert an eye roll.
  • He has the matching back pack.
  • Love fills the mornings because his bag is transformers (I don't normally ok anything character for school - I'm pretty sure he feels he's getting one over on me)
The end.

Bridge over troubled water?

Nope - just photos of under water.

You asked for it -
A few pictures from the new waterproof camera...

and one very cute baby. (yes. I'm biased)

I love this little camera - way fun for the price!

And totally worth it to make a grandma or two nervous when I went under the surface

Who knew obnoxious could be so cute?

And No. I'm not referring to my children.

(can I just act like I never left? Just pick up like we're in mid-conversation - is that ok with you? - k. thanks)

So - I bought JB a new digital camera. Ok. Ok. I wanted a smaller point and shoot that I could safely take with me to places where I don't want to drag around the "good" camera. And really? I like new and shiny things (in addition to the mentality that JB teases me about: "bored now").

After some quick research - I decided the perfect camera for JB would be the Fuji Z33WP. What's this? Weather proof? and Waterproof? Comes with a silicone slip cover? SOLD!*

How cute are these obnoxious little things? I picked the green one.

I'm only telling you this - because it actually took a pretty decent photo!

Carter.... with a Cub.

Back story (as seen on FB): It's been said in our house that if Carter even THINKS about liking the Chicago Cubs, that JB won't read him any more bedtime stories. Irony or just JB's bad luck that Carter earned free Iowa Cubs (the Chicago expansion team) tickets for reading something like 2400 pages this summer.

Regardless - JB took Carter to see this ball game. And even allowed this beast to maul his son.

The next night, Carter and JB went to a local football game (where I was told the hometown team's skills** really leaves something to be desired) where even more pictures were taken. YAY! I finally have gotten him (or really, me) a camera that is going to survive my boys!

*the last p&s camera died a horrific death after being rained on, dropped, lugged around and abused throughout Europe. This new one has a lot of predetermined expectati.
