With the 4th of July coming up....

I thought with the 4th of July coming up, I'd share our "normal" plans. One of my mom's sisters lives right on the Mississippi. From her backyard, we are able to watch 5 or 6 different towns' firework shows. With all of them reflecting onto the water - it's quite pretty. and?! AND?! I don't have the hassle of crowds (the occasional adult beverage enthusiast, sure) and traffic!

Four years ago, at this 4th of July party - JB and I had our wedding reception. It'll be the first time since that year that we've spent July 4th together. Maybe it's the worlds way of making up for him not being home for our anniversary last month? Maybe he just scheduled himself to be home in order to stay married and enjoy this anniversary of our reception?

And on to the constant abuse of this lovely blog. This lovely blog that Melly created for me (the lovely Melly has a birthday coming up on Sunday - everyone RUN over to her BLOG and leave some love!).

Anyway, abusing the blog :: trying to stay focused:: Ms. Mandy over at the SSD blog wants to be entertained with what amuses us on YouTube - and since this guy absolutely fascinates me, I will leave you with a pretty amazing video.

So I'm supposed to be coming up with a challenge for ndisb (really. I love that place. that place makes my heart melt. Nothing but warm and fuzzies) about "funky" - so far? Bring on the Funk's singer George Clinton's birthday is in July - think I can loosely tie in something there?

So - the lovely and talented Lauren Grier is hosting this weeks SSD's from our blog to yours - and you know I'm all about the Lauren Love (and hey, who am I to turn down a few free bonus points?). She and Shawna just put out the way fun (if you're an 8 yr old girl ;)) kit Power Puff Pixies (seriously. check it out. and tell them I sent you. and that they should give me a spiff). Anyway - this week blog thingy is a quiz about what kind of pixie you might be. I just happen to be a fire pixie! Cool, huh?

What type of pixie are you?

You are a fire pixie! You are compassionate, but love to play tricks on people! ( ohhh! look at the pretty flame..hehehe...)

I played along with a challenge that asked us to scrap the must have toys of 2007. The toys of preference in our house is definitely Thomas and his friends. Carter must have more than 200 of the little engines. It was the excellent excuse I *needed* to get this page scrapped, as I had been meaning to scrap some of his toys for ages now!

At the Sweet Shoppe they have all sorts of fun challenges every week or every two weeks. This time for the Cookie Cutter challenge they had a (hubba hubba hunk) a web-site's ad that was very clean, very office-filing looking. Well, I sort of strayed from the clean look - but in the end I love the end result though!

full credits can be seen HERE.

In Related SSD news - did you know they are having their Going Going - GONE! sale right now? In my world and absolute MUST have before it's gone is Lauren Grier's It's All About You (hee!) kit. Check it out!and the LO I made with this kit is:

Credits for this LO are HERE
So what are you waiting for? Go SHOPPE!

A very happy Father's Day to the dads

So as I type this, my husband is indeed not home to celebrate Father's Day with Carter (or me. since you know, I am to be thanked for *making* him a father).

As some of you know, JB is a HUGE Nascar fan (this isn't something I let out to just everyone. Until now) - and his ultimately favorite t-shirt is a Kevin Harvick race T. Anyway, the point of me telling you this is that I (with the help of Shawna Clingerman, by making me some custom splotches and the use her Techno Grunge kit) sort of re-created this T-shirt with Carter's cute little cheeser-face, rather than some grown-man to be displayed proudly on my hubby's chest.

Again - Happy Father's day! And here's to hoping the day Rocks your Face off!

So - because of Melly, I'm now able to participate in the Sweet Shoppe Designs From Our Blog to Yours Challenge. Exciting, right? Nonetheless, it's participation points! And since I have a shopping problem, I can use any "points" that come my way ;)

(29-35 points) You are Sponge Bob Square Pants:

You are the classic person that everyone loves. You are the best friend that anyone could ever have and never wants to lose. You never cause harm to anyone and they would never not understand your feelings. Life is a journey, it’s funny and calm for the most part. Stay away from traitors and jealous people, and you will be stress free.

My son will be ever so happy! ;) However, while I find most things funny - my life is far from calm!

And speaking of challenges - I should be coming up with a few for ndisb.com - any one have ideas that I can shamelessly use?!

My first official Scrap'ing blog "assault" - err. post.

Have you seen this? Mrs. Clingerman is having another CT call. Quick! Go sign up!

So ... once upon a time, in a land far far away (well, ok. far away from where I'm currently sitting) I used to "online journal". Back in the day before even diaryland - it was me and angelfire and some not so great html code fighting it out. Long story short - it was too intense for what I really wanted it to be. However, since I don't plan on allowing this blog to be in any sort of way similar in nature - I don't see how history can repeat itself... right? RIGHT?!

However, I am now being forced to blog. I have been non-consensually been forced back into writing my thoughts and letting others look at them. ;)

And since I have this brand-spankin' new (all shiny and pretty and what's that? a bit of glitter left over?) blog, that my dear friend Melly created for me about a week ago... What's a girl to do other than sit back and admire somebody else's handy work?

Dear Jill

Hey Jill!

Well you can love it or hate it but I thought I'd whip it up...

Welcome to the blogosphere - hope you go for it!

Melly :)
