Our Christmas Week in Review

Since this is all about me (and by default my children), I'm going to assume that I've already asked you how your holidays went.

We had a lovely Christmas.

Sawyer enjoyed ripping paper. And playing with the boxes.

And Chewing on Christmas themed Weebles.

We ate some candy.

We tested out the toys of our children. To make sure they weren't faulty, you know.

Then we rang in the new year with some good games, good food, good times, and good friends! Just as every new decade should begin!

The Obligatory Santa Photo Op

We visited Santa after we toured our town's Drive Through Light display.

Carter asked for Pants.
And agreed with Santa that kitty litter would be a good gift idea.

We don't own a cat.

I'm thinking Sawyer wasn't so impressed.

No Day Like a Snow Day

School was canceled today.
We're under a blizzard warning until tomorrow night.
Then we're supposed to have some pretty high winds.
Yay - drifting!

Caddie doesn't seem to mind. Much.

I spent the day making "warm" (not hot) cocoa & finding dry gloves, boots, pants, jackets, and of course helping with peeling off wet socks.

As much as I hate the cold - there has been proof that I find it's well worth it!

Attention All Autobots: You've Been Called to Battle

I finally got around to booking Carter's birthday party location.
decepti-creep

Nothing like waiting until 2 weeks before the day of the party, right?
Hey! Watch the racin' stripes!

These are pictures from last nights photo shoot, to be used on his invitation.

I'm totally getting my money's worth from those post-Halloween costumes, right?!

We'll Plan Our Escape

I was prompted to use a few of our outtakes from our weekend photo shoot.
Back story: We live near the American Gothic house, and thought it would be fun(ny?) to use this famous landmark as a backdrop to our photocard this year.

Here are few* of the pictures we won't be using in our holiday card:

The eyes closed:

The Baby trying to make a break:

The using a pitchfork as a weapon while the Baby actually Escapes:

*as it turns out we spent an afternoon basically chasing** the boys around and wielded not a salvageable photo from this location.

**it was also decided that the afternoon as a whole would have been much more enjoyable for the adults if there had been wine. Mass quantities of wine.

Happy 1st Birthday, Baby

What a great year we've had with & because of this little guy.

He's added something to our family that I didn't even know was missing. Isn't that a great feeling? To know that you found something that was very much needed?

Happy Birthday, Little Dude.
