Attention All Autobots: You've Been Called to Battle

I finally got around to booking Carter's birthday party location.

Nothing like waiting until 2 weeks before the day of the party, right?
Hey! Watch the racin' stripes!

These are pictures from last nights photo shoot, to be used on his invitation.

I'm totally getting my money's worth from those post-Halloween costumes, right?!

As Seen on TV

My parents (ok, really - it was just my mom) bought my son a Rocket Fish Rod (oh, yes. Indeed as seen on t.v.)... What a blast he had trying to catch a fish with it.

credits can be seen here

When she put it into the cart, I don't think he quite knew what to hug first - the package or his Mimi. However, when he finally did hug his grandmother he said (in the cutest voice),
"I've aaaaaaalways wanted one of these. Thank you!"

When they were on the dock fishing, I guess there was some serious pole envy from others watching Carter fish. But it seems that some of the manners have stuck, as he shared it with another kid close to age (yay for sharing!), and was quite gracious about it. From their stories, I think the grandparents had just as much fun trying to catch sunfish as he did!

The Best Damn Thing

Ok - so my recent posts* have all been song titles - now, with this in mind - why wouldn't I go with the obvious Avril today?

Anyway - the best place for me to be is watching Carter. He's such a cute (if a bit precocious and still obstinate) child, that I often find myself just standing back and watching him.

Carter has this "best friend" - Connor (Connor's dad works with JB). They are play soccer and are in swim class together - and next year Connor will be in Carter's preschool class. These boys have this very typical 4 yr old/preschool friendship... One minute they are each other's greatest advocate and cheering squad -then not sharing or taking turns very well the next.

In this picture, we have Connor, Carter, and Caddie - I sound like a Dr. Seuss book - Carter, connected to Connor, tried to control Caddie - while she contorted herself on her collar and leash.

*ha! recent! Cracking up right now - of course, by recent, I meant the few times each quarter I show up to this blog.
